5 tips to start Winter season.

Despite the warm weather over the last few weeks, at No1 Sports Verbier we’re already thinking about the ski season! The first snow should soon be falling on the 362 km of pistes in Verbier… and we’d like to give you 5 tips to prepare yourselves.

1) Stop drinking those mojitos and do some squats instead

You have to be in good physical condition to enjoy snow sports. Getting your body ready for the season will help you avoid injuries and aches and pains when you get back on the slopes for the first time. You’ll definitely be using your legs so we recommend that you build up your leg muscles by doing squats and lunges for at least 20 minutes a day. You can also go walking, running or cycling. Keep it up!

2) Look great for less

Make sure you have all the essentials: a jacket, trousers, helmet and glasses.  To make the most of your skiing experience (and to be safe!), your clothing and ski accessories should be good quality and the right size. If you need to update your wardrobe, there are some great deals to be had at our partner shop, Intersport. Our No1 Sports shop in Verbier has the latest collections from Norrøna and FW!

3) Take your skis out of the locker and get them ready for the season…

In shape and looking as good as ever, you’re almost ready to hit the slopes! Make sure your skis are in perfect condition for your first ski day. Clean your skis and bindings with a damp cloth to get rid of all the dirt and then wax them.  If you think that your edges aren’t sharp enough, if you find any holes in the bases or if you don’t have the right equipment to wax your skis yourself, bring them to our ski workshop.  One of our professionals will happily get them ready for you (have a look below for our special offer).

4) … Or treat yourself to new equipment

Your skis don’t work for you anymore, your boots hurt? Come to the No1 Sports boutique! Our team can help you find the best equipment for your level and riding style. You can also test our different makes of ski (we’ll reimburse up to 2 tests) and find THE right boot for you with our 3D scanner.

5) Make the most of Téléverbier’s preseason discount on season passes and download the HYLL app

Téléverbier is currently offering attractive rates for young people aged 7 to 24 until 30 November. With the presale Mont 4 Card, you (or your children) benefit from a discount of between 33% and 40% (depending on age) on the 4 Vallées annual pass. This gives access to 48 ski lifts in the Bruson, La Tzoumaz, Verbier and 4 Vallées sectors.

One more thing…

And if you’re thinking of buying day passes this season, we recommend you download the HYLL app, which will allow you to rent your equipment and buy your ski pass in one click. All you have to do is collect your skis from No1 Sports at the foot of the slopes!

Now that we’ve recommended that you get your skis ready for the season, we have a great offer for you: 50% off your ski preparation at No1 Sports! Please note that this promotion is only available to the first 100 people who request it. To take advantage of this offer, simply show this newsletter to the shop and… hurry!
