Discover the most iconic of the Verbier hiking trails following the Levron Bisse, a historic irrigation channel. This easy, 12,1k loop takes you on a memorable hike of about 3 hours and 20 minutes.
The hike starts at Ruinettes, where you’ll find the beginning of the Levron Bisse just below the top of the cabins. This trail offers splendid landscapes all along, whilst little ones and grown-ups have fun with the water.
Midway, you can stop for a well-deserved rest in one of the mountain restaurants such as Namasté, La Marmotte or La Marlénaz. But don’t forget to enjoy the highlight of your hike: La Chute du Bisse, where the channel ends with a spectacular waterfall.
For your next family excursion, look no further than the Croix de Coeur trail. This 9,4k hike takes you from Ruinettes to La Croix de Coeur. This trail takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes to complete and is accessible by pushchairs.
On the way you can add a touch of art to your hike by contemplating the open-air photo exhibition. Every summer, the Bagnes museum invites a photographer to show his or her work in this singular manner.
If you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge, choose the demanding hike to the mountain lake Lac des Vaux. This 7,3k trail is rated as difficult and takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes to complete.
To reach Lac de Vaux, start at Ruinettes and hike up to Col du Creblet. From there, you catch a first glimpse of its turquoise waters, before hiking down to its shore. After a refreshing break at the lake, continue to Col des Mines to round up your adventure.
If you are up for a real challenge, try to conquer the Pierre Avoi, which is reached on an 8k trail rated as very difficult.
